'The Lion Has Wings', 1939
Because it was started and completed so soon after the declaration of war and was seen to show how useful films could be in wartime, this film is considered to have done a lot toward allowing the British film industry to remain active throughout WWII, unlike in WWI when all cinemas were closed and filming effectively stopped for the duration.

The question of top billing was resolved by having half of the prints with Cary Grant listed first, and the other half with Ginger Rogers listed first. The TCM print lists Cary Grant first, but the programs distributed for the world premiere at Radio City Music Hall in New York City listed Ginger Rogers first.

When Steven Soderbergh was still set to direct, he cast Brad Pitt and Demetri Martin in the lead roles and had already shot interview scenes with baseball players Lenny Dykstra, Mookie Wilson and Darryl Strawberry to be included in the film. Demetri Martin went on to co-star in Soderbergh’s ‘Contagion’.
